I’m with the DJ | Juneteenth 2021

“It’s not our celebration to have. We can celebrate that slavery ended, but as we celebrate it in my family, we’re celebrating that history has changed but it’s not where it needs to be,”

If we can’t learn from our mistakes in our past, what hope do we have in the present?

Juneteenth is a day that was often overlooked, unrecognized and simply unknown. Over the past few years, because of the preventable deaths of people like George Floyd, the importance Juneteenth has amplified. I’m copying a link  from the Seattle Times with a short explanation of Juneteenth as well as educational opportunities in our area. I look forward to gathering with  you at church this Sunday while we worship online.
