A thought on Social Distancing:

To close my weekly email, I’d like to share with you an excerpt of something I plan on sharing this Sunday…

We live in a world where so many people are in vulnerable situations and feeling in need and alone.

Let us remember people who have felt socially distant long before this pandemic started. Let us remember people living with depression, anxiety and other related challenges, persons whose lifeline is AA, NA and other related groups that are their plumb line.

For people living with food insecurity. There is a great place to focus your donations and efforts. I highly recommend WA Food Fund as a site.

“WA Food Fund is raising money to provide food and supplies for those in need during the COVID-19 crisis, including the elderly, people who struggle with health issues or have lost their jobs, and children who normally rely on school for meals. Our neighbors are going hungry during this crisis and we can help…An estimated 1.6 million Washingtonians are at risk of not having enough food to eat. That is double the number of people than before the virus outbreak. That number may continue to rise as hundreds of thousands of Washingtonians struggle with joblessness and limited resources.”

The longer this pandemic continues, let us remember persons whose "homes" are not safe, Places where domestic violence continues and even heightens because of our need to stay home.

“The City of Federal Way provides a domestic violence victim's advocate to support victims of domestic violence through the legal process in Federal Way Municipal Court and other applicable courts. The advocate is not an attorney but is a member of the prosecution team. The advocate is available Monday through Friday...You can reach the advocate at 253.835.2591 during the work hours above or at 206.930.6509 after hours.

Every day people are still being Human Trafficked. Human trafficking is the trade of humans for the purpose of forced labour, sexual slavery, or commercial sexualHuman trafficking If you or someone you know is being forced into labor or sexual exploitation, please call or text for help: 1-888-3737-888.

If you or someone you know is in need of resources, please don’t hesitate to share this information.

May God be with you this Holy Week my friends. I’ll be taking Thursday-Saturday to be offline for my last infusion for the month. You are all in my prayers.
