I'm with the DJ | Week of March 25th
Dear Church Family,
As we begin of Holy Week, we are reminded of the sacred journey ahead. Holy Week presents us with a precious opportunity to embody the lessons of forgiveness exemplified in Peter’s interaction with Jesus. It is a time to meditate on the ultimate act of love and forgiveness displayed on the cross, where Jesus extended grace even to those who betrayed him.
Throughout Holy Week, let us immerse ourselves in deep reflection and mourning, acknowledging the gravity of Jesus’ sacrifice. Yet, amidst the solemnity, there is a thread of hope that weaves through the narrative – the promise of resurrection and new life. It is a reminder that forgiveness has the power to resurrect that which was broken, breathing new life into our weary souls.
As we prepare to embark on this sacred journey, may we open our hearts to the profound transformation that forgiveness offers. Let us embrace our imperfections, knowing that it is through our brokenness that the light of Christ shines most brightly. Together, let us walk hand in hand, finding solace and strength in the boundless love of our Savior.
I eagerly anticipate our exploration of these themes together this weekend, as we journey deeper into the heart of Holy Week. May this season be a time of renewal, healing, and boundless grace for us all.
On Easter Sunday, we will begin a three part sermon series entitled “I am Kenough”. In our search for worth and identity, it's easy to get caught up chasing stuff, status, and what others think of us, missing out on the real deal – how much we matter to God. "I am Kenough" is a down-to-earth sermon series that takes us back to basics with Baptism and Communion, showing us we're already enough because of what Jesus did for us, no add-ons needed.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor DJ

New Church Board Leadership
Last year, we introduced a single board governance structure, with members elected by our church community. This board plays a crucial role in guiding the mission, vision, and purpose of our church, overseeing crucial areas like finance, human resources, and trusteeship. In upcoming issues, we will be highlighting individual members of the Church Board to help you get to know the people serving our church in these important roles. Should you have any questions or thoughts for our Church Board, feel free to reach out at ChurchBoard@fwumc.org.
